Hello Fellow Flaunters,

With Maggie reducing her hours and eventually leaving us (boo hoo), we have been able to find a wonderful replacement for her... drum roll... Hilary will be joining us in the New Year after a break in the UK. To get a little taste of what she is in for next year Hilary will be teaching the next two Fridays card classes. We are very excited to welcome Hilary, she has been a loyal customer of ours from the beginning and is a very dear friend of Maggies. She is a very talented cardmaker and scrapper and she loves Monty Python and Blackadder, no more needs to be said!

We have a special announcement we have reduced our Bazzill cardstock 12x12 to 80c a sheet. Following in Coles and Woolies footsteps we realise that everyone uses this basic item and therefore we have lowered the price. We will be reviewing other products over the next few weeks to see where else we can help our Flaunters save money.

It has been a very busy week or so for us with lots of new product arriving. We have been frantically moving stock around and marking down older stuff to make space for the new stuff...

Hello Fellow Flaunters,

When I put the date in the subject line I did a double take! Life has sped up with the passing years I am sure of it. The other big thing is that the kids start school holidays at the end of the week and I sure the July holidays were only a couple of weeks ago!

Now for what is happening at the shop. Our dear sweet Maggie is reducing her hours with us and will only be working Fridays, don't worry ladies she will still be teaching her popular card class on Fridays! Jodie is taking a month off as a well deserved break. I'm not sure if I mention that Paula had a beautiful baby girl on the 18th of August and we all congratulate her and Dean on achieving perfection!

Hello Fellow Flaunters, It has been a busy time at the shop this week with crops and classes. Shaya had her first Beginners Class on Wednesday night and by all reports it was great fun. It is with sadness that we announce that as of next weekend we will be closing on Sundays. Any classes scheduled on a Sunday will still run, however the shop will be closed to the public. Once again the week has flown by and its Friday. At this rate I'll be another year older, but probably not wiser! Hello Fellow Flaunters,

20 Days of over 30'c and still counting! It weird how Mother Nature is really showing us who is boss, I truly believe that we need to understand that like children this earth is only on loan to us and we need to care for it. Watching the news all week and seeing the devastation in New Zealand, our thoughts have been with everyone who has been affected by this tragedy.

On to happier things... Last weekend we celebrated 3 years of Scrap It Flaunt It. We had lots of fun here at the shop with ladies scrapping till the wee hours of the morning. Throughout the weekend we had random specials and lots of savings to be had. We have some great photos and I will be posting them soon, I promise!

Hello Fellow Flaunters,

It really has been a week here! On Sunday Shaya was evacuated from the shop and Maggie was evacuated from her home! It is one thing to watch all of Mother Natures moods on TV, but to have it happen so close, its frightening. Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by the fires and know that you can pop in and have a cuppa and a chat. Oh by the way they let Maggie return to her house on Tuesday, which was a good thing cause her clothes were beginning to stink!!!

Next weekend (19th February) is our Extreme weekend and 3rd birthday ! We will be doing some fundraising over that weekend to help with the bushfires appeal, so please keep an eye on your emails for more information next week.

On a personal not I (Maureen) would like to thank everyone who has sent the condolences and positive energy to myself and my family following the passing of my brother in law. It has been a difficult few weeks, but now the healing begins.

Intro to the Cricut and Design Studio. $15
Come and join Cath as she guides you through the Cricut and Design Studio. If you have a Cricut that you barely use or have received one for Christmas then this class is perfect for you. Cath is a genius when it comes to all things Cricut and will spend the afternoon explaining the functions and versatility of the Cricut. All you need to bring is your Cricut, Design Studio & laptop (if you have one), your cartridges and your basic tool kit. Remember if you purchased your Cricut from us your class is free!

Valentines Day $25
Using three cartridges Cath will help you create a card and cute little bag for that token of affection you may want to give someone. I never knew the potential for this machine and the bag and flowers that Cath created are amazing. This is the first of some great classes that she has planned for you. It's been a very busy week again with kids classes, they are a creative bunch!

Well I have just closed the shop and I am going home to see my two beautiful girls plus two for a sleepover!! Maybe I should stay at work!!

Today Maggie is going the second of her Christmas Card class which the ladies are loving. Come and join her and the girls and get on top of those cards. Class is $25.00 and starts at 10am.

On Friday Maggie has her regular Traditional Card Class. This week it is with a twist!! Maggie is keeping the girls in suspense as to what she is teaching. Does anyone feel that we are rushing towards Christmas? I've spotted Christmas decorations in the shops and next we will be hearing Christmas Carols and Santa's "Ho Ho Ho". Do I sound like the Grinch? I have to admit I have become the sort of person who leaves their Christmas shopping until the last two weeks and then rushes around like a madman! Whats been happening in the shop...

It's been a busy day with lots of customers and Paula's Basic Stamping Class. The ladies are here and from the chatter and laughter they seen to be having a great time. I have to admit that popping in and listening to Paula, I have picked up some gems of information for stamping!

I have been busy entering and pricing stock, so we now have a restock of adhesive, including the ever popular XBox machine and refills, they have been selling before I can get them out of the box!!!

Tonight we have our regular "Scrap N Yap" with a few spaces spare. If you can't bare the thought of another night in front of the tv then call and book your place.

We are all looking forward to next Saturdays' Extreme Crop 10am - 10pm. Rose has been off buying Halloween props for the day and has promised to help with putting them up! I'm still trying to work out what I will be wearing, and have no idea who or what Jodie will be coming as.

We need to see samples of your work.

I bet you thought we had forgot about blogging! Well to be honest neither Jodie nor I are very computer crazy and blogging, facebook and twittering are the last things we think of doing, so I apologise for both of us at our lack of commitment!

To bring you all up to speed with what we have been doing at the shop. We have new stock arriving regularly, we have some great classes planned, including kids classes for the upcoming holidays, its only 3 weeks away...

We have had staff changes as well and bid farewell to Leonie, who has worked for us for the last 2 or so years. We wish her and her family all the best in the future. Thank you Leonie for everything, especially the beautiful work that you have always produced for us.

We have some new classes coming up and I will post them next.

We are introducing a new reward for classes. Each teacher will have a raffle for their class. To have tickets in the raffle you need to book and pay in advance for the class. That is, if you book in 3 weeks in advance then you will receive 3 tickets in the draw, if you book in 2 weeks then you receive 2 tickets and 1 week you will receive 1 ticket.

CLASSES

We are introducing a new reward for classes. Each teacher will have a raffle for their class. To have tickets in the raffle you need to book and pay in advance for the class. That is, if you book in 3 weeks in advance then you will receive 3 tickets in the draw, if you book in 2 weeks then you receive 2 tickets and 1 week you will receive 1 ticket.

Booking Conditions
1. Payment is required upon making a booking
2. If you need to cancel a full refund can be credited to your account or transferred to another booking if more than 24 hours notice is given. Funds will be forfeit after this time as classes and crops (Scrap n Yaps) are prepared according to the number of bookings and it can be difficult to fill that space at short notice.
3. Funds cannot be refunded in cash or eftpos

Mel Forbes and her Pop Up House

The class spotlight is on Mel Forbes.

She will be teaching a class here next Sunday, 30th May. Mel is a designer for Twiddleybitz and has been published in Scrapbooking Memories and Scrapbook Creations. In this class you will create a gorgeous pop up house. Many of the tricks that you will learn can be applied to other pop up ideas.

I will post a photo soon, having a small problem with the camera!!

Jodie and I had lots of fun at SIA, in Sydney. This trade event was jam packed with great classes, fun events and loads of suppliers. It was a great opportunity for us to meet people we speak to on the phone all the time and network with other shops. We met some crazy ladies from “Wrapped in Paper” in Canberra, the lovely ladies from “The Scrapbook House” in Geraldton and our dinner buddies from “Passion 4 Scrappin” in Midvale.

What did we get up to there you may ask? Jodie and I managed to attend 11 classes between us. Including classes with Becky Fleck, Heidi Swapp, Janine Koczwara, Wendy Senger and the girls from 7 Gypsies. We look forward to incorporating these ideas into our classes for you all.

We are very proud to say that Jodie won the crop night layout challenge, and what a challenge it was. She received an “EZCut” machine and dies, of course this is now pride of place in the workroom! Come in and see the winning layout. We would also like to congratulate all the other winners at SIA, they are all from WA!! Retailer of the Year was won by “Scrappy Cow” in Margaret River, Wholesaler of the Year is “Collections”, Booth of the Show went to “Dusty Attic” and Designer of the Year is Nat from “The Scrapbook House in Geraldton, GO WA!!!!

CLASSES

We are introducing a new reward for classes. Each teacher will have a raffle for their class. To have tickets in the raffle you need to book and pay in advance for the class. That is, if you book in 3 weeks in advance then you will receive 3 tickets in the draw, if you book in 2 weeks then you receive 2 tickets and 1 week you will receive 1 ticket.

Booking Conditions
1. Payment is required upon making a booking
2. A full refund can be credited to your account or transferred to another booking only with more than 24 hours notice of cancellation. Funds will be forfeit after this time as classes and crops (Scrap n Yaps) are prepared according to the number of bookings and it can be difficult to fill that space at short notice.
3. Funds cannot be refunded in cash or eftpos

Class requirements and Information
1. Scrap It Flaunt It will provided most or some of the products required for a class unless stated otherwise.
2. Classes will require you to bring a ‘Basic Tool Kit’
3. The use of Tools and Machines are included in the cost

Hello Fellow Flaunters!

A belated Happy Easter! Did the Easter Bunny leave lots of eggs for you? We have been very busy here at the shop and not had time to eat our stash (LOL). The response to our move has been overwhelming and we would like to thank everyone who has come in to support us and to shop. We would also like to welcome all our new customers who have discovered us now.

Hello everyone,

We hope that you have had a lovely, relaxing Easter.

We have now been in the new store for over 2 weeks and it has been fabulous. It was a very busy time in the lead up to opening our doors and we had many sleepless hours but, the shop looks great, even if I do say so myself! We have lots of great new stock, with the storage area growing constantly. We will soon have our display desks for all to see. We are also expecting DOcrafts to arrive any day now as well as several new paper ranges that were released at CHA.

We would like to thank everyone who has been into the store and especially to all who attended our Official Opening last weekend. We were overwhelmed by the support and the joy which people have shown us. Thank you also to those lovely ladies who sent us flowers and well wishes. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces and so many new ones on the day and over the last few weeks.

Rose has been busy working on the new class calendar and the classes are filling up fast. Our Scrap N Yaps are also back with one this Saturday, we now have space for 20 attendees, so get your name down as it is filling up quickly.

We would also like to thank our wonderful staff, Leonie, Maggie and Rose, who helped with the move, we could not have achieved as much without them.
